Able to adapt to any new and different environment quickly from busy town pubs to quiet country taverns.
When you go away on your holidays you need to know that your pub is in safe hands with a relief manager who can quickly and effectively pick up the routines of your pub. My experience has ranged from running one of the busiest pubs in South London, The Kings Head, which offered live entertainment for up to 500 people, a full menu, wine bar and function room, to managing a quiet country tavern; The Cottage Tavern, in the Warwickshire countryside, with a range of different guest ales each week. I have also run the Cottage in Kenilworth; this pub boasted six guest rooms serving breakfasts to our guests and a restaurant that catered for up to 40 covers.
A proven track record for making customers feel welcome and valued resulting in new and repeat business.
In many of the pubs I have owned and managed I have significantly increased both profits and barrels consumed which can only be achieved through the continued and improved friendly and efficient customer service. The Criterion Pub in Windsor was turning 90 barrels when we first took it on; at the end of our tenancy it was turning 375. At the Wyandotte in Kenilworth business was severely depleted at the beginning of our owner ship turning 73 composite barrels, when we left the pub was trading at 390.
Skilled at managing and encouraging staff to maintain an efficient, friendly atmosphere.
I have managed a team of up to eight staff at any one-time employing a total of 15 staff when running the Cottage at Kenilworth. The key to my success as a people manager is routed in my friendly and fair management style combined with the importance I place on leading by example. I have enjoyed and benefited from training staff in the art of efficient bar tending which includes a friendly welcome for each customer, taking a pride in pouring the perfect pint as well as keeping a clean and well stocked bar.
